Durmitor National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, contains 48 peaks above 2,000 metres, 18 glacial lakes, and Black Lake (a focal point for hiking). The capital city Podgorica anchors the central region with museums, dining, and nightlife. Five national parks in total protect the region's diverse ecosystems.
